Graphic designer Bülent Erkmen, the creator of Turkey's logo, describes his work as: a logo composed of the word 'Turkey' embedded in a visual web. This web resembles a labyrinth but is not one, it seems to be closed, but is not. It is simply not what is seems to be at first sight. Its structure absorbs the viewer just as literature absorbs the reader. One of its distinctive features is that you can 'wander' within this web. This distinctiveness transforms it to a cross-reference to Turkey's heritage.
